KATHLEEN NICOLL
Working as Associate professor in the Department of Geography at University of Utah, USA
He completed PhD on Geosiences from University of Arizona. He done Master Degree inGeology from Bryn Mawr College. He done his graduation on Geology & Environmental Science from University of Pennsylvania. Associate Professor Kathleen Nicoll’s ongoing research is mainly centered on arid lands geomorphology, hydrology, and archaeology. She has projects in Egypt, Turkey, Israel, southern Africa, and the western USA. In Utah, she studies wind, dust dynamics, and playa-lake features; some current NSF, NASA and NCALM -funded research includes landform development of the Late Quaternary Lake Bonneville using field survey and subsurface GPR imaging, complemented with C-14 dating and sediment analyses. Some of this Utah-based research is highly applicable to the study of the surface of the planet Mars. Dr Nicoll’s geoarchaeological research in southern African deserts focuses on Middle Stone Age-Late Stone Age remains in both riverine and dune environments. Dr Nicoll remains involved with climate change research and archaeological site excavation in Israel, Turkey and Egypt.
