Dr. Kalipada Pahan has received BSc Chemistry in 1985, MSc Biochemistry in 1987 and PhD Biochemistry in 1992 from the University of Calcutta, India. The same year he joined the Department of Pediatrics, Medical University of South Carolina as a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Inderjit Singh′s lab in 1996. He was promoted to Instructor and later in 1998. He was promoted to Assistant Professor in the same Department. In 1999, he moved to the Department of Oral Biology of the University of Nebraska Medical Center UNMC as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry where he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2002. Dr. Kalipada Pahan is the recipient of the D H Reinhard Scholar Award from the UNMC College of Dentistry and the “Silver U Award” from the UNMC Chancellor’s Council As a teacher of Biochemistry. Dr. Kalipada Pahan also received the outstanding teaching award from the UNMC College of Dentistry.
