Degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Paraná (1994). Held Internal Medicine Residency at the HCFMUSP (1995) and Cardiology at the Heart Institute / USP (1996/97). He is Doctor in Cardiology at the Faculty of Medicine, USP (1998- 2002). Held Postdoctoral Fellow in the Atherosclerosis Research Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles (2002-04). He is Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, professor of Cardiology discipline and the Graduate Program in Health Sciences (CAPES 4). Focuses its line of research in the areas of atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, risk factors, dyslipidemia and myocardial ischemia. He served as Scientific Director function SBC / PR in the biennium 2010-11. He is currently Chairman of the Department of Atherosclerosis of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology
