Biography
Professor Layland is an experienced general and interventional cardiologist working predominantly on the Mornington Peninsula and in southern Gippsland. He undertook advanced cardiology training at St Vincents Hospital, Melbourne and the Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane. Jamie then undertook a very productive PhD at the University of Melbourne examining the role of the coronary microcirculation in patients with ischaemic heart disease. Following his PhD Professor Layland then undertook a post doctoral interventional fellowship at the University of Glasgow / Golden Jubilee Hospital in Scotland with Professor Colin Berry and Professor Keith Oldroyd.
