He received a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Solar Energy from Centre for Energy Studies, IIT Delhi in 1980. He served as a Professor at Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay, India since many years and he is a recipient of many awards and grants for his valuable contributions and discoveries in major area of research. His research interests, as a Professor lie in Passive solar architecture and Solar thermal energy. He is the Editor-in-Chief/Editorial Board Member of many peer reviewed journals and his area of expertise, as a Professor credits him with many publications in national and international journals.
