Biography

Dr. Il-Keun Kong – A professor in the field of reproductive biology in Gyeongsang National University, Republic of Korea. He is the principal investigator of the research and development projects in Korea on the production of feline and bovine cloned and transgenic animals. The main research of Dr. Kong is focusing the production of transgenic cloned animals to produce pharmaco-therapeutics medicine and transgenic animal expressing reporter gene. He developed embryonic, mesenchymal and other progenitor stem cell lines in his laboratory. His team is also working on restoration of endangered feline species by somatic cell nuclear transfer. Currently, they are working on the production of EPO transgenic cloned cow with OPU derived dairy cow oocytes as well as HIV transgenic cloned cats. Dr. Il-Keun Kong completed his Post-doc at the USDA-ARS, Beltsville, Maryland, USA. He received his Ph.D. in Animal Reproductive Biology from the Gyeongsang National University
