Héctor M. Mora-Montes obtained the BSc in Clinical Chemistry (1997) the MSc in Genetics and Molecular Biology (2002), and the PhD in Experimental Biology (2006) from Mexican Universities. He worked as research fellow at University of Aberdeen (2006-2009), and is currently Professor of Microbiology at Universidad de Guanajuato, México. He is head of the Laboratory of Fungal Glycobiology, whose primary interests are the cell wall of fungal human pathogens and the host-fungus interplay. He has focussed on the analysis of Candida species and members of the Sporothrix schenckii complex. He is serving as an editorial member of reputed journals like Medical Mycology, and expert reviewer for journals like FungalGenetics and Biology, PLoS ONE, and Microbiology Open. He has authored 35 peer-reviewed papers, three book chapters and three books. He is a member of ISHAM, Latin-American Society of Glycobiology, and Medical Mycological Society of the Americas.
