Biography
Guiguemde obtained his M.Sc. from the University of Bordeaux in 1977 and is a retired Major General of the armed forces of Burkina Faso. He was the Head of Department, Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ouagadougou from 1984 – 2014 and the Dean, Faculty of Medicine, University of Bobo-Dioulasso from 2005 – 2014. Guiguemde specialises in; Tropical and parasitic diseases (malaria, dracunculiasis, schistosomiasis, leishmaniasis etc), planning, implementation and evaluation of control programs, training in medical parasitology, elaboration and implementation of research proposals and management of research teams
