Dr. Hofman is Professor of Pathology at the University of Southern California, with a focus on glioma endothelial cells. She is a world expert in brain tumor research and brain endothelial cells. Dr. Hofman is currently researching the structure and function of tumor-associated brain endothelial cells derived from gliomas, especially the mechanism(s) of the chemoresistance of tumor-associated endothelial cells to apoptosis induced by a variety of chemotherapeutic agents, and ways to sensitize these vascular cells
