He is working as an Assistant Professor at Addis Ababa University. Eshetu Girma who is a member of Health Education and Behavioral Sciences in Jimma University, Ethiopia and PhD student of CIH received a gold medal and certificate as “Young Public Health Researcher” award on the occasion of the 25th Silver Jubilee of the Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) in the African Union Conference Hall in Addis Ababa Ethiopia on February 20, 2014. He received the award from the Minister of Health of Ethiopia and the President of EPHA. This award "recognizes young public health practitioners who demonstrate innovation, forge partnerships, and strive for greater outcomes to the community in areas of public health service responsibilities."
