Biography
Dr. Olga McDaniel, MT, PHD is a Professor of Surgery with secondary appointments in the Departments of Neurology and Pathology at UMMC. She is Principal Investigator and Coordinator of Transplantation Immunogenetics/DNA Diagnostics Laboratory (TIDDL) in the Department of Surgery. The TIDDL activities are 20-30% devoted to the molecular diagnosis of neurodegenerative disease and HLA genotyping for disease. She is known as a Research Educator to the Faculty, Residents, and Medical students in the Department of Surgery. Much of her research work has been in the field of immunogenetics of diseases, human allograft transplantation, genomics of trauma-induced injuries.
