Dr. Crina Samarghitean is currently a Medical Officer in the Epidemiologic Surveillance and Response Unit, Department of Infectious Disease Surveillance and Control, National Institute for Health and Welfare, Helsinki, Finland. She has been involved for more than 10 years in research developing bioinformatics tools for primary immunodeficiencies, using a system biology approach to tackle these challenging diseases. For the importance and quality of her research she received many publication and travel awards and in 2011 had the honour to attend the 61st Nobel Lindau meeting to meet 20 Nobel laureates and the 500 best young researchers in the world.
Her research interest includes developing bioinformatics tools for primary immunodeficiencies.
