Christopher K Glass

Professor, Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, University of California, USA

Biography
Dr. Christopher K. Glass, serves as a Professor of Cellular and Molecular Medicine and Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Glass is a Founding Member of the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. He serves as a Scientific Advisor to VIA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He has been a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Radius Health, Inc. since November 12, 2004. Dr. Glass' laboratory investigates the role of nuclear receptors and other signal-dependent transcription factors in the regulation of macrophage development and function. His work is broadly relevant to the understanding of molecular mechanisms by which transcription factors control development and metabolism and how these factors may be exploited for the development of new drugs. Prior to his appointment as Professor, he was a postdoctoral fellow in Endocrinology and Metabolism at UCSD, following internships and residency training at Harvard Medical School's Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Glass received a BS in Biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley, and MD and PhD degrees from UCSD.
