    Three Exergy Zones of a Typical Non-Premixed Methane-Air Jet Flame

    Three exergy zones are observed in this study by investigating the local percentages of kinetic exergy, chemical exergy, and thermal exergy of a typical non-premixed methane-air jet flame, the Sandia flame D. It is observed that the flame domain can be divided into three zones as (1) zone І, the fuel zone where methane sprays and spreads, (2) zone ІІ, the air zone where air sprays and spreads, and (3) zone ІІІ, the left area besides zone І and zone ІІ in the flame domain, and this is the place where combustion occurs and flame spreads.
