Baris Ata

Biography

Baris Ata, Professor of Operations Management, takes a problem-driven approach to bridge the theory and practice of operations management. Ata uses stochastic models to study Delivery of Healthcare Services, Sustainable Operations, Management of Manufacturing and Service Operations, Queueing Theory and Revenue Management. Prior to joining Booth, Ata was a faculty member at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University for ten years, where he taught Operations Management, Operations Strategy, and Analytical Decision Modeling with Spreadsheets. Ata received his Ph.D. degree in Operations, Information, and Technology from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University in 2003. Prior to his academic career, he worked for McKinsey & Co.
