Amit Bhargava

Biography

Dr Amit Bhargava is a Consultant Endocrinologist with the Institute of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, Max Healthcare Ltd., Saket, New Delhi, India. He has completed his fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Connecticut (USA), and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Whilst being trained in the entire gamut of Endocrinology, his special interests include the management of Diabetes Mellitus, Bone and Mineral disorders, Osteoporosis, Pituitary disorders and Thyroid dysfunction. He has written several research papers in the field of Endocrinology, which have been published in international journals in both Europe and in the United States of America. He has also given presentations and spoken at several international, regional and national conferences and seminars, in the United States of America, Ireland & the United Kingdom. Recently, he reported the first case in the world of an Indian patient with Flatbush Diabetes Mellitus. This has enormous socioeconomic implications as we now know that this subset of patients exists in the Indian population as well. These individuals may not require lifelong insulin (i.e. do well with tablets) and in some cases, come off medicines altogether. He was also recognized as a best-selling author by Amazon, for his contribution to the book Bullyproof: Unleash the Hero Inside Your Kid.
