Rafael Ríos Tamayo

Biography

Dr Rafael Ríos got a degree in Medicine from the University of Córdoba (Spain) in 1985 and a degree in Hematology from University of Cantabria (Spain) in 1992. The internship period (1989-­â€1992) was developed at University Hospital Marqués de Valdecilla, Santander (Spain), a leader Spanish centre in bone marrow transplant. Since 1993, he worked as hematologist at Hospital Valle de los Pedroches, Pozoblanco, Córdoba (Spain) developing clinical and laboratory as well as epidemiology and statistics research skills. From 1996 to 2006 was member of the Andalusian Hematology Quality Control Committee. From 2003 to 2007 was hospital head of Hemovigilance.

Research Interest

Study of monoclonal gammopathies, especially multiple myeloma, from a clinical, epidemiological and genomic point of view
