Biography

Dr. Gordon W. Blood received his PhD in Speech Language Pathology at the Bowling Green State University during the period of 1976-1978. Currently, he is working as a Professor and researcher in Communication Sciences and Disorders at The Pennsylvania State University. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Department Head after 21 years of service in 2015. His research has included the psychosocial impact of communication and social disabilities on the quality of lives of individuals and their families. Based on this research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors, such as the W. K. Kellogg National Leadership Fellowship, Eli Lilly Teaching Fellowship, Fellow of the American-Speech-Language and Hearing Association, numerous University and National Teaching Awards, CICSD Best Research Paper Award and millions of dollars in funding from the United States Department of Education. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Psychological Reports and Journal of Fluency Disorders & expert Reviewer for journals like the Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research and American Journal of Speech Language Pathology. He has authored more than 100 referred research articles/books/book chapters. He is a member of the American-Speech Language Hearing Association and the International Fluency Association
