Devendran Saravanan

Biography

Saravanan Devendran is a postdoctoral research fellow at energy bioscience institute, University of Illinois at urbana-champaign, USA. He has received his Bachelor (2007) and Master degree in Biotechnology from Anna University, India and Ph.D. (Tech) (2013) in Bioprocess Technology from Institute of Chemical Technology (formerly UDCT), India. His research activity mainly focused on expression and purification of proteins, application of biocatalysis on active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) synthesis, microbial synthesis of value added chemicals and Biofuels. He has authored and coauthored several journals and conference publications,currently serving as editorial and reviewer for Enzyme Engineering.

Expression and purification of biomolecules, microbial synthesis of value added chemicals, enzyme engineering, biocatalysts on non-aqueous media, application of microwave/ultrasound on bio-catalytic process intensification, and kinetics model development
