Abstract :

ABET recognizes the importance of Engineering Professional Responsibility in the profession and the importance of addressing topics of Professional Responsibility in Engineering Education. This presentation address challenges found in addressing �??Engineering Ethics�?� in the undergraduate curriculum and suggests an approach to help introduce engineering students (of all disciplines) to their professional responsibilities. In particular, the presentation addresses separating discussions of the general topic of �??Ethic�?� and the specific topic is Engineering Professional Responsibility. The presentation concludes with recommendations for a methodology for engineering professionals in examining their professional conduct as their responsibilities expand through their career.
