Abstract :

A social worker is a person qualified to work in any of the social and medical fields. The role of the medical social worker is summarized in providing individual services to those who need them, whether physical, environmental, emotional, or psychological, and he must work to find a feasible way to prepare the patient who needs medical care and special care. Some of the technical functions of the medical social worker can be limited to the following responsibilities: 1. Examining the patient’s medical history to help the doctor and guide him in the examination and diagnosis processes and to draw up a solid plan for treatment. 2. Studying the patient's social history if he needs individual help or if there are obstacles to treatment. 3. Preparing the patient to accept some types of medical tests that annoy him, annoy him, and raise his fears of the pain that they may include, with some preparation and explanation of their method and purpose in examination or treatment, as in the case of the dental clinic where a large segment of patients require giving them an injection of the drug to treat Dental or the treatment session is painful, and this thing may cause a psychological reaction to the patient, which makes the patient not go for treatment again to the dental clinic. 4. Teaching the patient, the reality of the disease if it does not bother him, clarifying the meaning of the medical conventions that frighten him and assisting him in accurately implementing the treatment plan. 5. Discovering the dynamic picture of important facts and relationships related to the patient's position, which can affect the diagnosis and treatment of the disease, the date of the patient's discharge from the hospital, and the follow-up of his care externally. 6. Providing the patient with colors of special culture that are related to his sick condition through some brochures for the dental specialty that are delivered by doctors, each in his field of specialization. 7. Some patients and their families may be referred to external medical social institutions that can provide them with the appropriate assistance desired in their situation. 8. Preparing and keeping social records for patients. 9. Preparing medical certificates and reports that are of particular value in facilitating the patient and his family’s access to certain assistance, or to facilitate the patient’s recovery of his jobs in the community after his recovery, which causes the patient to make Communicating with the patient after leaving the clinic and finding out what problems or things that may have caused a reaction.

Abdullah Al Mutaiwe has completed his bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2004 in King Abdulaziz University KSA. He is the Assistant Director of Housing for Administration Assistant Director of F.C.M. for Administration for 5 years (2011-2016) Asocial worker in Department of Social Service (2004-2010).
