Abstract :

Low level laser light therapy or cold laser is a treatment program used to promote the re-growth of hair that has since become thin and receding. It was first developed by NASA in the late 1960??s. In clinical studies with mice, NASA was successful in regrowing hair on the bald mice utilizing low level laser light therapy (cold laser). In recent years the use of cold laser has been approved by FDA to be used as a treatment option to stimulate the re-growth of human hair. The lasers work by targeting the dying hair follicle and penetrating below the scalp to counteract the overproduction of DHT. In order for hair to grow, constricted blood vessels need to be reopened. The lasers stimulate blood circulation to deliver the nutrients and oxygen to the follicles stimulating the re-growth process. Scalp health plays an important role in the success of hair re-growth utilizing cold laser. The Awaken Hair System is a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses scalp health along with the health of hair follicles. This updated approach includes other effective products such as essential oils and peptide serums. It is equally important to pre-treat the area to create an optimum environment for the cold laser to be applied. Many products on the market contain chemicals such as Sodium Laurel Sulfate, which have been clinically proven to destroy hair follicles. Shampoos and conditioners that are sulfate free as well as a chlorine filter in the shower to help clean the chemicals out of the water system ensure that the scalp and hair are ready for the laser. Homecare is equally important. This regimen can include serums and nutrient supplements. After a one hour treatment once a week for 52 weeks the hair growth cycle and overall health of the follicles are improved. This treatment can be a standalone therapy or used in conjunction with other hair replacement options to improve the results.
