possible contributing factors which may be responsible for this. Materials And Methods: Retrospective questionnaire-based study. Patients with dermatophytosis with at least one more member of the family affected were included. A performance was filled & history was taken about the risk factors like the first member affected, number of members affected, site of infection in the index case, site of infection of all other subsequent members affected, soap/detergent used to bathe/wash, use of over the counter drugs, sharing of clothes/towels, use of antiseptic soaps, washing all the clothes in the same vessel etc. Results: Out of the 113 families, 20 families all of its members were affected. Cruris was the initial site of infection in the maximum number of patients. Spouse of the affected patient was always affected. All families gave the history of using an antiseptic soap. All gave the history of using over the counter creams. Washing all the clothes together was a common factor. All families had a single bathroom & used the same soap. Discussion: The most important is the use of antiseptic soaps which kill the normal flora of the skin, making it easy for the microorganisms to break the barrier. Use of over the counter creams could be responsible for decreasing the inflammatory reaction and leading to persistence. Though risk factors have not been extensively studied these possible risk factors may be responsible for the increasing epidemic.

She has also won a second award in a poster presentation in a national conference on Dermatophytosis conducted in Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in 2017. She is an avid participant in various activities of Chandigarh Dermatology Society.
