Abstract :

Excessive emission of greenhouse gases has been discovered to affect the health and economic potentials of individuals, communities and institutions in Nigeria adversely. Studies have shown that the use of renewable energy and a lesser reliance on fossil fuels in Nigeria which is in line with the United Nations Paris Agreement will help to reduce the excessive emission of greenhouse gases which are the major causes of global warming and climate change. This study identifies the green entrepreneurial opportunities in the renewable energy industry for young entrepreneurs in Nigeria. It also identified that the use of renewable energy which is one of the climate change mitigation strategies will help to enhance good health and well-being, increase environmental sustainability for sustainable economic growth and development in Nigeria. It further recommends that more impact investment strategies should be employed towards the renewable energy infrastructure projects in Nigeria thereby achieving the green, resilient and sustainable development in Nigeria.
