Novel drug for treating emerging diseases in Nigeria

Abstract :

Background: Many diseases of unknown etiology, presenting as ulcerating, inflammation found mainly around the neck region of susceptible subjects is a common occurrence in developing countries with low standard of hygiene and illiteracy and poor economic empowerment, coupled with very little climate change has therefore, was codetermine the effect of the new drug ORONSFRANKLO on the treatment of emerging disease of unknown etiology. That affects subjects in rural community in Nigeria, this disease mainly affects the neck region causing ulcerations, inflammation and bleeding Methods: 200 male subjects encountered in a rural community with this condition were randomly recruited into the study their consent was obtained verbally and were assured of strict confidentiality. The subjects easily complied because they were given the treatment free of charge. The lotion was applied to the affected part of the body twice daily for a period of seven days. Result: Satisfactory clinical response was achieved at the end of the treatment period, as the inflammation disappeared and the ulceration ceased. Conclusion: This study presents the treatment of this emerging disease.

Biography :

Francis Oronsaye is presently working as an Associate Professor at University of Benin, Nigeria from where he pursued PhD in Medical Microbiology. After attaining Doctorate, he has served in various positions including Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Principal Investigator for various projects involved in the same university. He has attended more than 20 international conferences and delivered talks in his field of expertise. He is a member of International Research and Development Institute and American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. He has published more than 50 research articles in peer-reviewed journals. He was also successful in designing a lotion for treating all kinds of superficial infections of bacterial and fungal origin. It is currently undergoing toxicology testing and is also awaiting NAFDAC registration.
