Abstract :

Laboratory studies were conducted in the Virology Laboratory at Centre de cooperation internationale en recherch� agronomique pour le development (CIRAD), Montpellier, France to identify whitefly biotypes collected from different localities in the Sudan. Whiteflies were collected from El-Obeid (North Kordofan State) and Abu Haraz (Gezira State) were grouped with individuals from the American continent belonging to biotype A and A related. Whiteflies collected from Sagai (Khartoum State) were grouped with biotype Q.
