Abstract :

Background: In this presentation, Artificial intelligence (AI) main knowldge and introduction to it’s compenets will be reviwed. As a focal point of attention in the medical imaging world, the linkage between the AI charcteristics and tasks of AI in biomedical image analysis will be established. Radi-Omics has two components , radiology and Omics. Omics-based medicine and systems pathology are used for personalized and predictive medicine . Currently , there is a growing trend that couples AI with Radiomics (AIR) in medical imaging to extract more data from CT /MRI /PETCT /Plain X-Rays and Ultrasound that could possibly indicate patient specific diagnostic/prognostic information. Literarure reports AIR statistical models to have promising prospects in more patient specific individualized diagnosis and management of , the brain , pituitary gland, lungs ,heart , liver , kidneys and prostate. It is importent for radiologists/radiographers to have at least the basic understanding of the AIR workflows , pre- requisites and challenges. A case review with focus on Chest diseases will be also evaluated and a conclusion on how to interpret reported AIR efficacy will eventually be provided.
