Abstract :

In the new biosocial model of health care, which in the process of rehabilitation involves a multidisciplinary approach, the work of a clinical psychologist is part of a multidisciplinary team. However, all specialists have different terminology and different models of patient analysis. This problem is solved by using the International Classification of Functioning, Disabilities and Health (ICF) in the rehabilitation process, which allows discussing working moments in one common language. The purpose of our work was to describe the work of a clinical psychologist in the framework of the work of a multidisciplinary team using the ICF. According to the ICF concept, health has the following components: activity (activity and participation), contextual factors (personal and environmental factors), functions and structures. The work of a psychologist when using the ICF will be concentrated in the following groups of domains: changes in body function, activity and participation, environmental factors, personal factors. By evaluating these groups of domains, the psychologist can tell other members of the team whether the patient can cope with stress on his own or for this he needs an escort, or medication support, characteristics of personality factors, an assessment of the patient's environment, and whether these factors are alleviating, or barriers. Thus, the ICF allows psychologists to build productive interaction with other specialists - members of the ICBM, helps to structure the goal of rehabilitation. The ICF makes it possible to communicate “in the same language”, understanding information about the patient’s condition from other members of the multidisciplinary team.
