Abstract :

Approaching the current concept of caries as an imbalance between the risk indicators and the protective factors, as well as the concept of caries risk assessment, viewing some tools used in caries risk assessment and their implications in the daily work in the dental office. Going through some important modern concepts in pediatric dentistry like: Anticipatory guidance, active surveillance and dental home. Providing the recommendations tailored for each risk group by each tool considering the diet, fluoridation, preventive and restorative work.
