Charles Chaplin believes that he does not consider himself a citizen of any particular country but rather a citizen of the world. At the time, very few people could have possibly thought or felt that way. The acceleration of globalization at the turn of the 20th century changed the global geography and economy. The creation of multiple economic groups, such as the European Union as an example, made it simpler for participating countries and non-participating countries to conduct business with each other. The currency used for the transaction is does not important to a small Brazilian retailer nowadays, therefore it does not matter if they import goods from Portugal, France, or Germany. The Euro will finally be used. The American dollar can be used as a standard when doing business with any other country because of its inherent attributes as a global currency. It is also possible to explore using this economic exchange tool for academic activity. Around the world, university exchange programmes for teachers and students have quickly grown. As a result of globalization, the opportunities for learning in other countries have become more evident. It is the knowledge revolution right now. Students from a range of academic disciplines who are looking for a differentiator in their field do not confine themselves to their universities, nations or mother tongue.

Similarly, professors and in particular study seeks knowledge that extends beyond their previous geographical boundaries. It is not enough to know their mother tongue well, nor is it enough to know a second language; being multilingual is the major differentiator today. The main difference today is the exchange of experiences and knowledge between their reality and that of scholars and academics from all over the world. Due to the high demand for student, professor and scientist exchanges, universities were forced to establish institutes of international relations and develop international exchange programmers. Furthermore, international academic conferences and the search for university partnerships to promote multicultural and multinational events have become increasingly important.

These gatherings are now fantastic venues for knowledge sharing among scholars and the formation of fresh international cooperation. Even though events involving more international scholars present a fantastic opportunity, they also needed to be adjusted to the new realities of widespread involvement. Due to time constraints and frequently shorter debates, the exchange of experience during events has been limited to oral presentations.

Due to the restricted time in official sessions at an international conference, the possibility for information exchange among experts is increased through social activities marketed by the event's organizers or through tourism in the area of the event. The event's attractiveness includes not only the quality of the sessions but also the accommodations for participation and the nearby social and tourist attractions. As a result, intellectual tourism presents a huge opportunity for the tourism sector. Agreements between international conference organizers and the travel and tourism sector may play a significant role in facilitating scientific information exchange. Both the travel industry and the advancement of academic knowledge benefit greatly from academic tourism. Today, we are global specialists.
