Major Impacts and Effects of Corona Virus in this Pandemic Era

COVID-19 was identified in Wuhan, China in December 2019. COVID-19 is caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) viruses. This is a new human virus that causes respiratory disease transmitted from humans. Early in the outbreak, many cases were reported to be associated with large seafood and live animal markets. However, human-tohuman transmission of the disease was confirmed in subsequent cases unrelated to the market. There were also travel-related exports.

There are three main ways that COVID-19 can spread:

1. Breathing air containing droplets or aerosol particles containing the SARS-CoV-2 virus near an infected person or in a poorly ventilated room with an infected person.

2. Through droplets and droplets, especially those from coughs and sneezes, by droplets or particles containing the SARSCoV- 2 virus that land in the eyes, nose, or mouth.

3. Hands with SARS-CoV-2 virus particles touching eyes, nose and mouth.

Droplets containing the SARS-CoV-2 virus are released when a person infected with COVID-19 sneezes, coughs, or speaks. Infectious droplets can enter the mouth, nose, or be inhaled into the lungs of nearby people. WHO recommends maintaining a physical distance of at least 1 meter (3 feet) between people to avoid transmission. Respiratory droplets can land on hands, objects, or surfaces around people when they cough or talk touch the hands, objects, or surfaces with droplets then touch the eyes, we can catch COVID-19 by touching our nose or mouth. It can also be transmitted by people with mild symptoms or who feel unwell.

There are certain situations that increase the risk of contracting COVID-19. For example: Poorly ventilated rooms. Indoor areas with poor ventilation often have higher concentrations of virus particles than outdoors.

The main symptoms include:

• Fever

• Coughing

• Shortness of breath

• Trouble breathing

• Fatigue

• Chills, sometimes with shaking

• Body aches

• Headache

• Sore throat

• Congestion/runny nose

• Loss of smell or taste

• Nausea

• Diarrhea

The virus can cause pneumonia, respiratory failure, heart problems, liver problems, septic shock, and death. Many COVID-19 complications can be caused by a condition known as cytokine release syndrome or cytokine storm. This is when an infection triggers the immune system to flood the bloodstream with inflammatory proteins called cytokines. They can kill tissue and damage our organs. In some cases, a lung transplant was required. SARS stands for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. SARS began in 2003 and affected people in several countries until it ended in 2004. The coronavirus that causes COVID-19 is similar to the coronavirus that caused the 2003 SARS outbreak.

The 2019 coronavirus is related to the original coronavirus that caused SARS and can cause severe acute respiratory syndrome, hence the name "SARS" includes SARS-CoV-2. Much is still unknown about these viruses, but SARS-CoV-2 is spreading faster and more widely than the SARS-CoV-1 virus in 2003. But it can be easily passed from person to person, probably because it is a carrier of the virus.
