Description

The migration of tourists from one location to another is referred to as tourism. It is the temporary short-term movement of people to places other than where they regularly live and work, and it encompasses all activities they participate in at the destination, as well as all facilities and services specifically designed to fulfil their needs. Tourism encompasses not just travel to a certain location, but also all activities carried out while there. It consists of day trips and excursions. The movement can take place within your country, or visitors can travel to distant areas for the sake of tourism. Tourism is categorized into twelve types. They are (a) adventure tourism (b) wildlife tourism (c) eco tourism (d) cultural tourism (e) pilgrimage tourism (f) business tourism (g) wellness tourism (h) cruise tourism (i) educational tourism (j) leisure tourism (k) sports tourism and (l) heritage tourism. In this paper, only cultural and adventure tourisms are covered.

India is famous for its rich cultural past and mystique, which is why travelers flock to the country to see for themselves. The Pushkar fair, Taj Mahotsav, and Suraj Kund mela are among the several fairs and festivals that travellers can attend in India. Tourism for the arts Because India has long been regarded as a nation of ancient history, legacy, and culture; it is the driving force behind the country's rapid ascent in the tourism sector in recent years. To promote cultural tourism in India, the Indian government established the Ministry of Tourism and Culture. In recent years, the ministry has launched the Incredible India! Campaign, which has resulted in an increase in cultural tourism in India.

Over the years, India has had many rulers, each of whom has had an impact on the country's culture. Dance, music, holidays, architecture, traditional practices, food, and languages all show the impact of diverse cultures. India's past and culture are extensive and lively as a result of the influence of all of these many cultures. This cultural diversity contributes to India's positioning as the ultimate cultural tourist destination, boosting cultural tourism in India. Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttaranchal are the most popular states in India for cultural tourism. Tamil Nadu is also well-known in India for cultural tourism, as it displays Dravidian tradition and culture.

Adventure tourism has recently increased in popularity in India as a form of tourism. This entails travelling to remote locations and participating in numerous activities. Tourists enjoy hiking in places like Ladakh, Sikkim, and the Himalaya for adventure tourism in India. Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir are well-known for their skiing opportunities. Whitewater rafting is becoming increasingly popular in India, with tourists flocking to places like Uttranchal, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh to participate in this adrenaline-pumping activity. In India, you can participate in a variety of ocean, land, and air adventures. Rock climbing, skiing, camel safaris, paragliding, mountaineering, white water rafting, and trekking are examples of adventure tourism in India.

Rock climbing is a relatively new kind of adventure tourism in India. Rock climbing is gaining popularity in India as a kind of adventure tourism due to the abundance of climbing rocks throughout the country. Badami, Kanheri Caves, Manori Rocks, and Kabbal are some of the spots in India where tourists can go rock climbing. Skiing has been more popular in India as a kind of adventure tourism in the previous decade. A vast number of hill stations with great skiing facilities may be found throughout the country. Skiing adventure tourism has sprung up in India as a result of this. Manali, Shimla, Nainital, and Mussoorie are all destinations in India where tourists can go skiing.

In adventure tourism especially in India, whitewater rafting is a relative novelty. Due to the existence of a lot of rivers, waterfalls, and rapids, this has been increasing. The Ganga, Alaknanda, and Bhagirathi rivers are among the spots in India where tourists can enjoy whitewater rafting. Trekking has recently gained popularity in India as a form of adventure tourism. Many people visit India in order to undertake trekking in the country's varied mountainous mountains. Camel safaris have grown quite popular in India as a result of initiatives launched by the tourist boards of several Indian states. Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer are the most well-known camel safari sites in India.
