Biography

Dr. Yue Zhang obtained his PhD in Institute of Zoology, University of Fribourg, Switzerland in 2006. He carried out his first postdoc in Institute of Aging, Pittsburgh Institute of Neurodegenetive Diseases (PIND) until July 2008; then he moved toRadiation Oncology Department, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School first as a research fellow then promoted as an instructor in August in 2010. He is currently working as a senior scientist at research center, CHUM, University of Montreal, and as a principal investigator for some special projects. His research interest focus on biology of mTOR signaling and Mi-2/NuRD chromatin remodeling system at a system biology level, and the pathophysiology of their involved aging- related complex diseases, such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases (ND), osteoarthritis (OA), etc.

Research Interest

Dr. Yue Zhang research interests focus on biology of mTOR signaling and Mi-2/NuRD chromatin remodeling system with evolution and at a system biology level, and the pathophysiology of their involved aging- related complex diseases, such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases (ND), osteoarthritis (OA), etc. The aim is to understand their underlying mechanisms and then cure the diseases. However, he created the chromatin remodeling system (CRS) cancer attractors theory of carcinogenesis, initiated the description of Dams and lakes attractors landscape, and he is now exploring how to reverse some complex diseases via epigenetic and chemical cellular reprogramming by using nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, fish, mouse, dog model systems, and human patient specimens as well.
