Dr. Son is the laboratory director at McGill Reproductive Center, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Royal Victoria Hospital, McGill University. Dr. Son obtained his PhD degree from Sogang University, Seoul, Korea, in 2000. Dr. Son has 20 years of experience in clinical embryology. In 1992, he started his work as a clinical embryologist at CHA Infertility Center (Seoul, Korea), and then in 2000 he moved to Maria Infertility Hospital (Seoul, Korea) as IVF Laboratory Director. In 2003, Dr. Son joined the McGill Reproductive Center in Montreal, as a Senior Clinical Embryologist and has been the Laboratory director of the McGill Reproductive Center since 2008. He has been engaged in investigations of human oocyte maturation in vitro, blastocyst culture and vitrification of oocyte and embryo. He has published over 70 original articles and reviews, and has been invited as a speaker at several international conferences.
Dr. Son research interests include oocyte maturation in vitro, blastocyst culture and vitrification of oocyte and embryo.
