Biography

Dr. Borisovich was been graduated from the College of Biology, St. Petersburg State University.He has got  MSc degree on cell membrane penetration; After that he accomplished PhD in 1993 at the Department of Embryology and Reproductive Biology, Botanical Institute, Russian Academy of Science.His thesis topic was  "Paeonia embryo development in vivo and in vitro" .He has worked as a postdoctoral researcher a the University of Bordeaux II, France and at the Uppsala Genetic Center, SLU, Sweden on somatic embryogenesis and program cell death.For 6 long years he was a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Plant Developmental Genetics, University of Zurich, Switzerland where studied female gametophyte and zygotic-embryo lethal mutations. He has completed one year as a Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA in NSF Arabidopsis-2010 project. Currently since January 2008,he is a Research Associate at the Institute of Biological, Ecological and Rural Sciences, University of Aberystwyth, UK: Epigenetic control in plants: development and surviving in a changing environment.
