Biography

Dr. Tien-cheng ‘Arthur’ Chang, Ph.D., HCLD/ELD, is Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center and Clinical ART Laboratories Director at UT Medicine Women’s Health Center, San Antonio, Texas, USA.
He received his undergraduate degree from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, Master of Science and Ph.D. degrees in Endocrinology-Reproductive Physiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and High-complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) and Embryology Laboratory Director (ELD) certification from American Board of Bioanalysts.  His clinical laboratory services and research interests include assisted reproductive technology (ART), gamete and embryo development, preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), implantation, andrology, and ART laboratory quality management.  He also directs a research laboratory focusing on nonhuman primate embryology and stem cell technology for modeling reproductive and regenerative medicine, and is actively involved in training medical students, residents, fellows and basic science researchers.  In addition to his academic appointment, Dr. Chang serves on editorial boards and as a reviewer for several reproductive science and stem cell biology journals, as well as on committees of various reproductive technologies professional and scientific associations including ASRM, SRBT and SSR.
