Dr. Tianbao Yang is currently a research scientist at Agricultural Research Service, United States Department of Agriculture, Beltsville, MD. He received his PhD in Plant Genetics and Molecular Biology from Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, and performed his postdoctoral work with Department of Horticulture, Washington State University. Prior to joining for the USDA, he was an associate professor in Washington State University.
Dr. Yang’s research program focuses on the understanding of genetic and biochemical mechanisms determining fresh produce quality and shelf life. His group is working on functional genomics of calcium/calmodulin regulated genes/proteins during fruit development and ripening, and in response to postharvest stresses
