Biography

Stuart Morgan-Ayrs began therapist training after completing a BSc in Industrial Information Technology specialising in systems analysis and human resource management and being interested in the effects of stress and mental health in the workplace.  From 1993-1996 Stuart trained in an integrative approach combined diploma in Analysis (psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural), humanistic style stress and anxiety management counselling, and clinical hypnotherapy with a strong element of psychoeducation. The educative approach was encouraged and nurtured through external accreditation via a level 4 NVQ in Training and Development in the context of complementary health and stress management education. After a number of years working in the private sector and related sectors Stuart completed a second accreditation process with the National Association of Counsellors Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists. This process covered humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural working and was developed in conjunction with HIPC, the humanistic college of the UKCP. Since then Stuart has completed continuous professional development in a wide range of therapy models, as well as a BA Open degree in psychology and philosophy of the mind modules and a Masters Degree in psychology. Stuart has completed clinical training in different models of mindfulness and in CBASP competency. Stuart’s interests include the relationship between individual psychology and politics, integrating eastern and western models of psychology, and basing integrative multi model approaches around clinically recommended and researched processes.  Stuart is a Fellow of the Scottish Royal Society of Arts, the Royal Society of Public Health and the Institute of Health Promotion and Education. Stuart currently practices in Scotland in the private sector and can be contacted via www.psychoanalysis.center
