A trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and a Chief Research Fellow at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research Lagos, Nigeria. He currently coordinates both the Sexual, Reproductive and Childhood diseases Research programmes and the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV Infection programme of the institute. He is also the Co-Principal Investigator of the Institute’s HIV treatment programme that provides comprehensive care, treatment and support for over 15,000 Nigerians living with HIV/AID and TB. He has been a temporary adviser to WHO/TDR on HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria since 2006.
