Nebojsa I. Jaksic received the Dipl. Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering from Belgrade University in 1984, the M.S. in Electrical Engineering, the M.S. in Industrial Engineering, and the PhD in Industrial Engineering from the Ohio State University in 1988, 1992, and 2000, respectively. Dr. Jaksic is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado. From 1992 to 2000 he was with DeVry University in Columbus, OH. In 2000, he joined the Department of Engineering at Colorado State University-Pueblo, where heled the departmental efforts in developing and establishing the Bachelor of Science in Engineering with Specialization in Mechatronics (BSE-Mechatronics) Program. Dr. Jaksic is currently a Professor and the BSE-Mechatronics Program Director. He has authored over 50 conference and journal publications and holds two U.S. Patents.
Research interests of Dr. Jaksic include wide areas of manufacturing processes, automation, robotics, and nanotechnology. Some of his recent projects involve mass-production of carbon nanotubes for applications in nano-composite manufacturing, Bernoulli-type end-effectors for manipulation of irregular objects, inexpensive scanning tunneling microscopes as nano-manipulators, andelectrochromic windows for automobiles.
