Graduated in Biological Sciences Medical Modality Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP / Botucatu-1996), master's (1999) and doctorate (2004) in psychobiology at the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp), and postdoctoral fellow at the Division of Neuropharmacology and Neurologic Disease, Yerkes National Primate Research Center, Emory University, United States (2007-2010). She is currently an adjunct professor III discipline of Medicine and Biology of Sleep Department of Psychobiology of UNIFESP, researcher at the Association of Research Incentive Fund (AFIP) and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). In 2010, she was invited to be a visiting associate professor at the Yerkes National Primate Research Cente-Emory University (USA) and in 2012 to be lecturer at Harvard Medical School. Coordinator of the Sleep Laboratory in Rats and Mice Department of Psychobiology of UNIFESP. Member of the Brazilian Society of Sleep, Brazilian Society of Science in Laboratory Animals, American Association for Laboratory Animal Science, Sleep Research Society, European Sleep Society, World Association of Sleep Medicine, American Physiological Society, the Society for Endocrinology and International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology . It sits on the board of the Brazilian Society for the Study of Pain. Winner of L'Oréal-ABC-UNESCO For Women in Science (2007).
