Mehmet Varol

Biography

He works as a research assistant at Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Science, Mugla Sitki Kocman University, Turkey. At the same time, he studies to attain a doctorate of philosophy at Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Anadolu University, Turkey. On the other hand, he studies to attain a second doctorate of philosophy at Department of Polymer Science and Technology, Faculty of Science, Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Turkey. Currently, he focused on researches about metallophtalocyanines-mediated photodynamic therapy and related intracellular mechanisms of their action on adenocarcinoma and keratinocyte cell lines due to detect their possible utilization on cancer and hypertrophic scarring diseases. Additionally, he works with natural compounds to discover and develop their potential as anti-angiogenic, anti-cancer, anti-oxidative drug ingredients.
