Dr. Manconi is the Head of the Service at the Sleep and Epilepsy Centre of the Neurocenter of Southern Switzerland, Lugano, Switzerland. Mauro Manconi earned his medical degree (1997) at the University of Bologna (Italy) with honour, discussing a thesis on Central Alveolar Hypoventilation. He completed his specialization in Neurology (2002) at the University of Ferrara (Italy) with honour, discussing a thesis on Restless Syndrome and Pregnancy. He defended his PhD in Sleep Medicine (2005) at the University of Bologna (Italy) with honour on REM Behaviour Disorder.
He is currently involved in clinical and basic research in sleep field, with particular interest in sleep related motor disorders. He has written over 50 publications and 1 book and is member of various International Sleep Societies.
