Ludmila Viksna is the professor and chair in Department of Infectology and Dermatology, The Riga Stradins University, Latvia. She earned her PhD at Riga Medical Institute, Latvia. Currently, she is the head of Tuberculosis and Lung diseases, corresponding member of Department of State Agency Infectology Center of Latvia and member of expert commissions of Latvian Academy of Sciences. She has published 362 Reviewed papers and she was author of 4 books and 2 books chapters. She has a teaching experience of more than 30 years. She has served as the President of Infectologists Associations of Latvia and Vice-president of Physicians Society of Latvia. She was one of the members in European Association of Study of the Liver and European society of Clinical microbiology and infectious Diseases. She served as a reviewer of peerreviewed journals in the area of HIV/AIDS infectology. She has organized BalticNordic infectologists and hepatologists conferences and has received many awards like diploma of Three Stars order for merits in favor of Latvia; Officer of Three Stars order 3003 2009 and WHO certificate of appreciation.
