Josep BassaganyaRiera is an Associate Professor and Director of Nutritional Immunology Molecular Medicine, Virginia Bioinformatics Institute Virginia Tech and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his PhD in Immunology and Nutrition from the Iowa State University Ames IA 1997-2000; and a DVM from the Autonomous University of Barcelona Bellaterra Spain 1992-1997 . He received Iowa State University Research Excellence Award in 2000 and BioServ Award in Experimental Animal Nutrition from the American Society for Nutritional Sciences 2005 and Human Nutrition Foods and Exercise Research Excellence Award in 2005 and AAI Junior Faculty Award from the American Association of Immunologists in 2006 and Ramon Y Cajal Award in Biomedicine in 2007. He published 60 publications 10 patents and is the reviewer for over 46 peer-reviewed journals.
