Dr. Jinchun Sun is currently working as a Research Chemist in National Center for Toxicological Research, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, USA. Dr. Jinchun Sun completed her Ph.D. in Chemistry (in the field of analytical chemistry) from the University of Kentucky (Lexington, KY) in 2006.
Since 2006, my research has been continuously focused on the use of mass spectrometry for metabolomics-based analysis of urine, serum, and tissue samples to elucidate potential translational biomarkers and mechanism(s) of toxicity and disease that will improve and protect human health. LC/MS is instrumental in the qualification of potential biomarkers in both preclinical and clinical studies. The identified biomarkers will serve as novel tools to provide a scientific basis to the FDA for biomarker-based products approval or as disease screening biomarkers in accessible body fluids. The studies will also provide information for risk assessment of new drugs for the protection of public health and for FDA decision making.
