Jie Zhang was born in Baoji, P.R.China in 1975. He received B.Eng, M. Eng and PhD degrees in Instrument Science and Technology from the Harbin .Institute of Technology (HIT), P.R.China in 1997, 1999 and 2002, respectively. From 2002 to 2003 he was employed as a research fellow in the University of Warwick. From 2003 to the present, he has worked as a research associate in the University of Bristol, and his current research interests are focused on Ultrasonic NDE of layers, interfaces, ultrasonic wave scattering and adaptive array imaging.
