Hossein Parsaei received a B.Sc. degree in electronics engineering from Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran in 1999, a M.A.Sc degree in biomedical engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2002, and a PhD degree in systems design engineering at the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada in 2011. From 1998 to 2006, he was working as a biomedical engineer or electrical engineer in several companies in Iran. Currently, he is a research associate at the Cognitive Neuroscience of Communication Laboratory in Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, ON, Canada. His present interests are pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, machine learning, instrumentation, signal processing, and mainly the application of these techniques to medical problems.
His research interest is mainly biomedical engineering. The aim of biomedical engineers is to help physicians in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. He is interested in bioinstrumentation, biomedical signal processing, medical image processing, and application of pattern recognition and machine learning in biomedical engineering.
