Harlan P Jones is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Immunology at University of North Texas Health Science Center. He received a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in 2001. He completed his MS in Biology from Southern University Baton Rouge Louisiana in 1997 and his BS in Microbiology from Louisiana State University Baton Rouge Louisiana in 1993. He received the "Outstanding Faculty Award" in 2003 from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He is serving as the Director of Recruitment and Minority Affairs for the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. He is a reviewer for 4 scientific journals and has over 15 publications in peerreviewed scientific journals.
Dr. Jones research involves understanding the mechanisms linking stress-associated risk for disease and immune function. Specific interests involve defines the role of stress responses and resistance against Streptococcal pneumoniae-induced sepsis.
