Gianni Sacchetti born in Ferrara (may 2nd, 1967) 1992: Degree in Biology with a thesis focused on secretory structures of Tagetes patula (Asteraceae) (University of Ferrara) 1996: PhD in Pharmacognosy with a thesis about phytochemical characterization and bioactivities of crude drugs of Asteraceae (University of Ferrara) 1996-1999: fellowship student researching about phytochemical characterization, in vitro efficacy and safety assessment of aromatic and medicinal plants (University of Ferrara) 1999-2005: academic researcher for the University of Ferrara (Italy) 2005- to present: associate professor of pharmaceutical biology disciplines.
Medicinal plants, His research activity is focused on pharmaceutical biology topics, with particular attention to general and applied pharmacognosy matters (medicinal and aromatic plants, crude drugs). The research activity is focused on chemical characterization and bioactivity evaluation of phytocomplexes, their fractions and pure compounds from medicinal and aromatic plants, and crude drugs.
